    The Team

    Between them, the members of the OptiStrat team have many collective years experience in the Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Performance Management, and Training. Michelle Thompson Michelle is an admitted attorney with a particular focus on labour law and litigation. She has been extensively involved in the drafting of employee contracts and the implementation of employee policies, including disciplinary codes and procedures. In addition to her vast experience in dealing with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA), Bargaining Councils and the Labour Court, Michelle offers hands-on experience in restructuring and retrenchment issues. She has practised as an HR Manager for several organisations, gaining extensive experience across the full spectrum of HR disciplines. Laura Thomas Laura Thomas has an Diploma in Human Resources Management and Training. She is a very passionate person who with 8 years of working experience in different industries. Laura has worked in the Human Resource environment for the last two years and has gained invaluable experience regarding general Human Resource Management, Employment Equity Reporting and statutory compliance. Piet Pistorius Piet is an Industrial Psychology and Geography graduate from the University of Natal. He completed a Higher Diploma in Education (with merit) as well as a Diploma in Personnel Management with distinction. He also successfully completed the Unisa Management Development Programme in 1984 and achieved distinctions in all six subjects undertaken. Piet has 27 years experience in the Management Consulting and Project Management fields. He has held executive positions in both line and service functions in the mining industry as well as in the retail and consulting sectors. He has consulted at all levels in most economic sectors. He has extensive experience in the design and implementation of performance enhancement processes and systems and commensurate organisational restructuring initiatives. In addition, he specialises in Human Resource Development as well as business strategy policy formulation and implementation. He is an accredited provider on a number of fronts including Worklife International (Australia), Lominger career Architecture, Bioss, Louis A Allen, and Success Motivation International. He has implemented numerous turnkey projects that have spanned the broad spectrum of business management. He facilitates a number of executive leadership programmes and has enjoyed acclaim as an international speaker. In recent years he has become very involved in SETA management structures and is currently in the throes of commissioning a R52m business academy in Ekurhuleni. He is a qualified assessor and moderator. He serves on various advisory boards and forums including the Ekurhuleni Mining Forum, The Gauteng 2050 Vision Workgroup, and The Integrated Sustainable Development Alliance . Adelaide Mdluli Adelaide specialises in training and development. She has successfully managed all SETA matters for more than 30 companies over the past four years. As well writing training programmes for various clients. She has also gone on to design, implement and managed full HR policies and procedures as well as a successful performance management system. Se also has experience in successfully implementing wage negotiations, and is a fully accredited assessor and moderator with the Services Seta. Shaun Lake Shaun is highly experienced in the implementation of online systems, having developed these for training, performance management and corporate communications. He created the first online learnerships in South Africa in accordance with SETA requirements and has extensive experience in advising companies, government, and other international organisations on Internet related activities, including e-commerce, e-learning and e-government.
